We spoke in class today about archetypes in literature- particularly the archetype of the Hero. However, every reader knows that a story about a hero is nothing without a supporting cast! Here are ten common archetypes, named for Carl Jung, a psychologist who developed them.

Now how about a little extra credit opportunity? Think of a narrative- read or viewed- and try to figure out which archetypes are filled in that narrative.
